I read it for the first time this year too! Really enjoyed it and I hope it doesn't get butchered in the series.

Between it and Snow Crash... so much of what VC has been spent on.

One of the greatest and most engrossing novels I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading, and the perfect ending in my opinion. Somewhere very close, the laugh that wasn’t laughter.

It’s interesting to consider what makes a story age. Before reading Treasure Island, I expected it to feel so dated, but IMHO, it’s a great read—even 142 years after its release. It also defined a genre and inspired many similar works, yet still felt fresh to me. Anyway, I love both stories. Could Gibson have created a sci-fi novel that aged even better?

Douglas Trumbull was the Special Photographic Effects Supervisor on Bladerunner. Jordan Cronenweth was the Cinematographer. Not that there isn't technical overlap between the two disciplines; just buttoning things up as neatly as possible

Thanks, Tom, I appreciate the correction. I have updated the essay accordingly.

You can still smoke in bars in Japan, albeit for the most part behind a plastic sheet that touches neither the floor nor the ceiling. At least, that was my experience in Hakuba this January.

Today morning I read the article (I found it posted on HackerNews)

And I liked the idea of the "lorem ipsum" genearator based on Gibson's words 😊

It took me ~1 hour to implement and deploy it https://terrakok.github.io/loremgibson/
